Raina Leyagu is 8 years old. She is in grade 1. She is under the care of her mother, who is married.She is from the Samburu community. Her favorite color is red, her favorite food is chapati, her favorite subject is mathematics, her hobby is playing netball, and her dream is to become a pilot.

CASE STUDY

The mother is the breadwinner in the household of 6 children. The elder children have all completed high school and are now staying away from home. The father has a hearing disability he is therefore unable to do any job.Raina has a brother who is in high school and is the only child who has left school. The kids sometimes go without food and only manage to get lunch in school. The mother requested the girl to be assisted, to enable her to have a better life.
