Hannah 12yrs ID: HTN 2357

Hannah was born on 27th May 2011 and is currently in grade 6. She is from the Kikuyu community and she and her mother live with their grandmother and her two sisters. The grandmother is a casual worker. Her favorite color is pink, her favorite food is chapati, herfavorite subject is CRE, her hobby is playing football, and her dream is to become a pilot.

CASE STUDY

Hannah is the firstborn in a family of two children. The grandmother has given Hannah, her sister, and her mother a place to live and she has been taking care of them since she was a baby. Hannah’s mother has a hearing disability, and she cannot talk either she has had the condition since birth. Hannah’s mother is a victim of rape and that is how she got her while she was still at her mother’s house. She completed primary school and because the mother could not afford to enroll in high school, she spent a lot of time at home. Later she got the opportunity to take a tailoring course.

She does not do any work, especially now that she is ailing from a condition that affects her spinal cord. They all depend on the grandmother to provide for their needs. When Hannah’s mother fell seriously ill, the family had to raise money for her to be taken to the hospital. The grandmother has a small portion of land where she plants some vegetables to provide food for the family.
